Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is the Mexican American sportscaster. She is employed by ESPN and works as an SportsCenter News Anchor. She began working for ESPN as a news anchor in the year 2016. She's the daughter of the TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been bilingual since the age of nine years old. It was a helpful ability that allowed her to secure her first job working as an assistant to the producer for Univision in Miami and allowed her to collaborate with producers of national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Her first job was as a reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. After 2009, the reporter moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as in addition to Fox2 News. In addition to reporting on issues related to immigration and drug-trafficking on both sides of Mexico-Texas border, she was a reporter on newscasts at 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor, reporter and later anchor for the 9 p.m. news in English as well as a reporter again for 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. Also, she was often asked to serve as a weather and sports anchor. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. In that station, she was given greater accountability. She covered The Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys as well as the NBA Postseason and the finals for FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23's local sports channel Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She was hired as anchor for sports for Despierta America Deportes for their morning program. She held the same position for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo for the UniMas Network. Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. Eventually, they settled in Mexico City and she was born there on November 22, 1985. Her older sister is also hers. She is the older sister. Her parents divorced shortly thereafter and, in 1995, she was married a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. In the summer of 2006, she took a week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed there. Antonietta was a senior high school student however, she had a clear idea of her career goals. She went to Mount Union University to determine if they suited her. It turned out that she enjoyed the university and that the school provided the degree she was looking for. After finishing high school, she decided to enroll at the university with a major in Media Studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed for a number of years, was a friend. Mark Bergmann inspired her to believe in herself and his enthusiasm for journalism deeply affected her. She determined to meet his expectations and never failed him.
